Last Saturday I did a slow run for an hour, keeping in the Zone 3 heart rate zone. I enjoyed it so much that I did the same thing today. Because I had adjusted my maximum heart rate in the settings since my last run, I was running very slightly faster as I tried to keep in the middle of the zone. Towards the end, I did encroach very slightly into Zone 4 as I was singing along to my music πΆ and lost concentration for a bit! It was good not to feel exhausted after running; I almost felt I was cheating! Not even out of breath, even though the air was quite heavy this morning.
This run wasnβt about the distance covered, but because I was running very slightly faster, I did achieve 6K in the hour that I ran. So Strava told me it was my longest run, which satisfied my competitive spirit! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
I felt good on this run. Iβve found that I really enjoy running slowly and will be doing this once a week. Run slower to run faster is what they say!
So here is my offering for MontyMooDogβs Weekly Virtual 5K! Photo shows the flat landscape of the fens, taken from the end of the Deadend Track!
