New shoes came with two PB’s

New shoes arrived a few days ago and decided to take them out for a short 3km run initially. Obviously the excitement of new shoes numbed any common sense to run slowly and I ended up with a 1km PB of 5:17 and a 3km PB of 17:10. Neither of them were expected!

Anyone else achieved PB’s due to new shoe excitement or stupidity to run too quickly???

Anyhow new shoe excitement has now fully worn off and common sense has been returned, back to running slow and steady to build up stamina, and managed to complete 7km this morning in 46:22, not a PB!!

Previously I was running in Brooks Ghost 12, also a good shoe, but so far very impressed with the ASICS Gel Nimbus 22 as they feel like they offer a lot more heal cushioning, my legs certainly don’t ache as much after a run in these, or maybe that is just wishful thinking 🤔

Thanks. No idea how long the new shoe effect will last, but here’s hoping it’s a while !
