I've finally taken the bull by the horns and been for a gait analysis and bought new shoes. Wasn't anywhere near as embarrassing as I thought it would be. Settled on these as they are so comfortable and apparently corrected the over pronation of my left foot. Had to get a whole size bigger than my normal everyday shoes and half size up from my cheap Tesco trainers.
I didn't go for the orthopaedic insoles for an extra £45! Seemed a little much on top of the mortgage for the new shoes (hope they're worth it).
Will be taking these out for a test run tomorrow hopefully (W6 R1), although my left foot is still feeling slightly achey. Will take it easy and stop if it gets worse again.
