I suspect a lot of it is mental, in that the previous continuous runs (w5 r3 and w6 r3) were a novelty and filled with a euphoric 'omg, I can't believe I'm doing this' where as all three runs this week were physically exhausting but also, just like the one previous.
That being said, today (w7 r3) I kept going until I hit 28 minutes and found the run overall slightly easier than the two prior, so maybe I'm slowly settling into it.

I actually enjoyed week 7 the most , not saying it was easy coz it wasn't BUT, it really sets you up as a runner (I think) and beds in the longer runs and shows us the importance of pace and consolidation
That's a good way of looking at it. It is definitely a turning point in the program and I hope you're right in terms of setting up as a runner for the next couple of weeks and beyond. I can't at all agree on the enjoyment side of things, but hopefully all the things you mentioned help me feel that way at the end of w8
I'm midway through w7 and all I can tell you is that its hard for me! I think for me I am thinking that its not a big step up because the distance isn't increasing, whereas in reality our bodies are still getting used to running for longer periods of time + doing it regularly!!
I'm liking w7 mentally though I definitely feeling amazed at the progress over the past 6 weeks
100%, from a macro perspective the achievements come easier and are more substantial. Only a fortnight ago a 20 minute continuous run seemed daunting, now I've done 3 25 minute runs and a 28 in the past 8 days.
