After changing plans and going for distance on consolidation run 🏃🏻♂️8, today I decided to go for pace 💨
Decided to use my Apple Workout App today as I can set split time pace and nudge me on, so set for 5.45. Again something clicked into place, think it was knowing what I was looking to achieve specifically.
Weather was superb ☀️ ... just the right side of cool (glad I’m running early as it looks like it will be a hot day) .. nice warm breeze. Getting darker in the mornings I notice though ... good job I had on my day glow orange top ! 😂
Off I went, usual 5k route today ... pace good ... even for my 1st 1km, which is usually my slowest ! As it was I only received the on track alerts ... even going up a slow long gradual hill at 4K, stayed within target and on hitting 5k I nearly jumped as couldn’t believe my time ! 💪... still kept going as had to do the 30 mins.
Good week so far ... a longest and a fastest run .... Friday’s will be a sedate 30 mins ... especially will be in a different location and it’s full of hills !! 😮

Well done! It’s good to have a plan and to feel like you’re achieving. That’s a great pace and pretty consistent, too - mine is still all over the place.
You must be pleased with that run, and good that you are enjoying these consolidation runs, giving yourself targets and successfully completing them. 👏👍
I’m fortunate being taller that I have a longer gait than most ... as for 4K in 30 mins that’s a huge achievement! It’s not about distance but regularly running 30 mins ... especially as consolidation time ... speed and pace will come with time ... but the 30 mins is the golden goal ... and you’ve done it 7 times ... as we both said ... remember running 1min and thinking that was tough !!
