For those horrible winter days when motivation is so low because of rain etc (today). I have just bought a second hand barely used Reebok Fusion. I've just used it properly this morning as it is pouring down here. The time segments are 10 minutes with varying strengths, depending on mode so I have to do a restart to follow the app. So along with Jo (Jo Whiley, I just call her Jo now cos she's my friend lol) I move gently on the walking section and speed up on the running part. My intention is to tidy the garage (I know) , move my granson Ethan out of the way and buy a treadmill too. Has anyone else done this or do you just go out on the rain etc

Aww he's putting us to shame there :-)

To be honest, I love running in the rain (encouraged by many of this lovely forum). Last week it was absolutely pouring down and I laughed at the ridiculousness most of the way round. Great fun to be honest!

I intend to use my dusty cross trainer (also in the garage but without the addition of a small child) on non-run days as I find I cease up a bit.

He loves jogging as we do short bursts while out with Milly the lab. He also says the machine is easy for big boys like him. (4) I was wondering if I should just go out in it this morning, but my head said don't be silly, so did mrs t.

I love running outdoors in winter, I'm no good at coping with the heat 😅 I have to say though, my neighbours have a treadmill in their garage and I am quite jealous when it's icy or very windy out there!

As Billy Connolly says, "There’s no such thing as bad weather – only the wrong clothes." 😜

A cross trainer will develop your cardio and general fitness and to a degree your leg muscles but is no substitute for running as there is no impact and that is what triggers the adaptation and development of muscles and bone strength.

Cheers LdT, I didn't get it to replace jogging, but only for the days like today where the weather is awefull. Glad to hear it is of some use as far as cardio goes, at least I won't miss out too much on snowy nights
