Charged up my wireless neckloop but forgot to turn the plug 🔌 on at the wall🙈 so no app! It was raining too hard to carry my phone. Well it’s W8:1 and I know what to do, so I set off in the pouring rain, without hearing aids, without Jo and worst of all, without music😫. I used my sport watch to keep an eye on the time. Guess what?
I loved it🤣 Ran steadily at snail pace for 26 minutes and then sprinted through the last two minutes. Mission accomplished!

Wow amazing that you still enjoyed your run Annie. Well done you. I enjoyed the rain on Monday too. It’s great to know we’re not put off with the winter approaching
Well done - great achievement! I think we sometimes all rely on this additions when we can do it on our own! I know I felt bereft when I left my water bottle in the fridge on a run last week! We can run without the extras - but when the going’s tough - it’s great to have music to keep you going.
I hope you could still tick off the run on completion on the C25K app on your return! Let it play on it’s own and then press complete!
Not sure I could get through it without music, I have a little conversation with myself in my head all the way round and need the music in an attempt to distract me! Even been thinking of trying an audiobook/podcast instead and seeing if it can shut the little voice up even more...
Great Job!! Way to go that is commitment. you are almost there keep up the good work.
so what did you love? Running in the rain or running without any music or both?
Its funny I just ran my first run since graduating on Thursday and decided to try and run without anything playing to see what it is like; since I have been use to having the music and Laura telling me how long I have been running for.
It also turned out to be my first time running in the rain. I liked the silence nothing to influence my pace and a great time to just think and enjoy the surroundings. Liked the rain a little but not the puddles?
Thank you ! Exactly as you put it! The silence...and without hearing aids it’s very silent for me. Without the distraction of the music & the timings, plus feel the falling rain, all made it different & special. I have decided every time it rains to go without the gadgets. It’s a great time as you say to think and for me to pray for family. However I did appreciate having Jo & my music back today. 😀
