This was probably my slowest run yet 😱 It was very hot here this morning and I felt a bit tired but I thought I’d head out for my normal Sunday morning run in the woods. I was doing ok until 20 minutes when a sneaky gremlin popped up and tripped me up with a tree root 🤷♀️ I found myself face-planting into pine cones and leaves - not the worst landing but even so I had to take a minute before getting up and walking for a minute before carrying on. I need to be more careful...I’m too overweight and too old to be falling over. Just soooo grateful there was no one around to witness it!
Note to self - take an extra day’s rest if tired, the next run will still be there tomorrow 🤞

I’m just a bit bruised. I’m off for a gentle swim tomorrow and I’ll have another run on Tuesday if I’m not too sore. It’s an awful feeling thinking you’re going to fall and today was the day for it 🤷♀️ I’ll be picking a less tree rooted route next time
Sometimes you’re so focused on your run you don’t always notice these obstacles!! I did run into a tree branch near my house only because I was checking my distance 🤣🙈 well hopefully you are able to take it easy and feel comfortable for your next run x
Ouch !!! ...,sounds painful ! Well done for just getting up and getting back on it ... as for speed, pffft, you got the distance in which will build the stamina which in turn will improve your speed ...tree root notwithstanding... well done 👍
