Haven’t managed to run for 8 days due to my children which feels like ages. Also am finding it easier to make excuses so thought I MUST get out this evening before I lose my fitness I have gained completely.
Surprisingly I managed to find my pace quite quickly into the first run. 10 mins went quite smoothly, then the second ten minutes was a bit harder than the first but managed to complete it without too much drama. Really thought I would struggle tonight and have to repeat it. Best not leave such a long gap before the next long run though. Hope everyone is doing well, have missed logging on.

Hi there, what you've just done tonight is the hardest it will get. Having the motivation to get up and out after 8 days while knowing it will be tough it's brilliant!! It hasn't got any easier for me, now on week 9...and it's just as tough as week 6...🙈. No-where near 5k....30min 5k is extremely optimistic 😂. I know we will eventually experience the FLOW....and actually enjoy the experience of running. At the moment I love completing a run...and CAKE
Hi LeanneRob, lovely to hear from you. Thank you for your kind words. Glad to hear you are still going and so nearly there! Well done you! Don’t worry about the 5k, that will come, it’s the consistency that counts. Yes you are right about the flow and cake rewards are always good. Looking forward to seeing your graduation post really soon 🍾🧁
I always love seeing your name pop up! I’m a chocoholic! 🍫 😍
But seriously well done! You dug deep and you got out there (and I bet you feel so pleased for that!?) ... You still got your fitness levels too and the run sounded pretty dreamy! 👏👏
You have been missed - one more left then you’re on week 7!
Will keep a space warm for you on the graduation bench 😀👍
Your posts always make me smile 😊. Thank you, yes a few days ago I didn’t think I would have the will and the way to keep going but then I thought I’ve come this far, it would be a waste to give up now. You’re such an inspiration to many of us here.
You’re doing bloody brilliantly- sometimes life gets in the way but hey... you have done do much! Can’t give in now... not long at all and you earn your graduation badge! ... and we will all be here to cheer you on 👏👏👏
And I can dangle a bit of bling- I’ve been looking at reward bracelets ...
they do C25K graduate! Too good to resist!
I’m like a child and love certificates, medals, rewards 🤣🤣
Well done I think sometimes that’s the hardest part getting the motivation to get the trainers on. I have kids, dog, work which all takes it’s toll on time and tiredness. But the feeling of completing a run and knowing six weeks ago you was just running for a minute is amazing. I am doing my first run of week eight this morning. Until I read your post the excuses were coming I am tired, will I have time etc. But you have inspired me so I am going to do it xxx
I’m so pleased to hear that! Glad I posted now 😀. Yes life does get in the way sometimes but you are exactly right about being proud of the progress that we have made as an inspiration to keep going.
Aaaah! So lovely to see your status pop up!! I’ve missed your posts!!
Firstly well done to getting back to it, getting the motivation to get out after any time off is hard!! Also, sounds like you had a nice run, which is so positive to drive you on for the rest of this week and onwards!!! You can do it!!! 💪🏻😊
Hey, aah thank you so much. Yes I was pleased that I haven’t completely forgotten/lost it. Given me more encouragement to get to the finish line and beyond now. 😀
Got up this morning to do this very same run, and found it the hardest I have ever started. I managed the first 10 min part ok (ish), but in the second one I had a complete mental block and had to slow to a walk a couple of times. I stopped the app when I was walking and did complete the run (eventually), but this was the first time I have done that. Very demotivated, and on the verge of chucking it in if I'm honest.
Your post has given me a lot of food for thought though. I usually run next on Fridays, so let's see where my motivation is then.
Well, done for running after an 8 day break! I don't know if I could be that strong.
Aww don’t give up now, you have come this far. Easier to carry on rather than start all over again. Remember what your initial reasons for doing this were. Repeat the run and move on. We all have bad days.
Thanks for the kind words, and yes, when I think back to how far I have come I feel good. Maybe it was just a bad day, time to revamp my playlist and look onwards!
Keep going. I did WK 7 last week and found it a real struggle. More mental than physical, I didn't want to go out and when I did I found it really hard and kept telling myself "That's is, you've hit a wall, you wont be able to finish this". I had to give myself a bit of a kick and spent the runs repeating "I am a runner, I can do this, I wont give up". Don't know why I had such a tough week. Like I said it was more a mental thing I think. Did WK8 R1 yesterday, relaxed and took it easy and completed it no probs. So don't beat yourself up about it, just keep trying, relax, take it slow and remember how far you've come.
Hey there! Thanks for checking up on me. I’m ashamed to say I haven’t run since then 😔. I actually thought it was about two weeks ago but just seen it’s 3 aaarrrghh! Struggling to get out mainly due to my toddler but I really want to complete the course. Not sure whether I can just pick up where i left off?
They say two weeks is ok. Maybe try repeat the last run you did, just to give you some confidence and get you back into it.
Just thought I’d check in, I was dragged through the programme by others supporting me and giving me a virtual kick up the bum so just thought I’d check in, see if you needed one too.
I have my first consolidation run planned tomorrow. I’ve not managed 5k yet (only 4K in 30 mins) so I’m planning on pacing myself and getting my first 5k under my belt.
Hi Wobbles, I ran this morning. Now my youngest is back at nursery I plan to go after drop off. Repeated week 6 R1, found it hard especially on the eight min run and was quite stiff when stretching afterwards but completed it. Feels good to get back into it again. 😀Thanks for the kick up the bum again!
Great to hear from you, glad you’ve managed to get back out. Well done on completing W6 R1, try some dynamic stretches tomorrow if you’re still stiff. You’ll find your recovery time will get shorter the more running you do. (Says me who walking funny today after 5k last night) 😣
Jut keep at least one rest day between runs and you’ll get there.
