I went out for my second consolidation run this evening, having completed my first uneventful consolidation on Friday.

I left it until this evening as we were out last night and so running was the last thing on my mind this morning 🍸🍸

I decided to change it up a bit and changed to Michael using run 9:3 again. He was a bit crackly and I still prefer Laura, but he got the job done. To compensate from the night before, I set off very gently tonight, not even trying to increase my pace and by the end of the 30 minutes I felt amazing, so I decided to run for the five warm down minutes to see how that felt, planning to add a warm down at the end

After 35 minutes, I still felt incredible, so decided to finish my lap (of the park where I run). Once I had finished that, I still felt ok and a quick look at Strava said I had covered 4.3km.

That’s when my competitive nature kicked in........ I ran past my husband and son who had finished their runs and were waiting and said, I’m going for my 5k. Still feeling strong and in breath, another lap saw me complete my first 5k in 48 minutes tonight. I didn’t mean to do it, the spirit just took me. But I am delighted. I’ll see how I feel for the next run, I’ll plan for 30 minutes with no pressure and see what happens. πŸ˜€

Well done! Take care not to overdo it at this stage, so you certainly don't need to get to 5k on every run, but that is a landmark distance. A friend of mine is pushing for5k on every run but says he's suffering a bit. A mix of lengths is good. Take care and what a brilliant, uplifting post!
