W6 R2 done.

It was a beautiful morning, I wasn't 100% sure I was going to run today as my knees were still a bit sore yesterday, but this morning they felt OK, so...trainers on, off I went after the usual inventory (phone, headphones, water, inhaler etc.etc.)

The warm up walk was delightful. (That was probably the high point, in terms of the sheer joy of being out in the sunshine with stunning views and feeling utterly comfortable lol.) The first 10 minute run had a few tough moments, but also some better ones. Recovery in the walking bit (lost all recollection of how long it was , felt short !) was quite quick which is good because it only seemed seconds before Jo told me to run again. Just had time to push the button on my watch (thought I'd set Strava too, but as usual I failed at that. Anyone want to give me a quick tutorial? Maybe it doesn't link to my silly watch?) then off I went again for another 10 minutes. It felt a little bit better than the first run, again a few tough moments but it all got done, which is the point! The sun was warming my back on the way out, which was very pleasant, but on the way back it tried (and apparently succeeded according to the car mirror after) to melt my face which wasn't a good look.

I'm painfully slow still though, which is beginning to peeve me slightly. There's a chap walks his dog at the same time I run, and he goes at such a cracking pace it's becoming my ambition to overtake the beggar! 🀣

Still. Only one of W6 to go, getting into the longer runs now. Not sure how I feel about that, I still feel like it's darned hard work but...but...I'm still going so I guess I'm getting fitter.

My new running listening is Radio 4 Friday Night Comedy podcasts...actually make me snort with laughter at times, which must be pretty scary for anyone nearby when added to my habitual puffing and occasional grim muttering...

Anyway, if you've read this far you're fab and I want to wish you Happy Running...or happy after running at least!

Congratulations and we'll done !

That's the end of the intervals 😁

Some good stamina building runs next !

As far as your watch is concerned, what is it ?

You might know the Garmin servers are still down following a randsom attack !

But you can either record direct with Strava or you can manually upload the files to strava from your watch afterwards which is what I did this morning.

Anyway, enjoy the next runs πŸ‘

My watch isn't the best, being furloughed and not having much money at the moment! It's a Letscom.

Hmm. Not sure if I can upload from it but will look. According to the app that goes with it, which I don't think is very reliable, I'm about as fast as your average garden snail. I think it said about 11.20 minutes to run a mile...I'm really hoping this gets better! It's still faster than I was at first though, let's take the positives!

Thanks!

Well done for the last run of the intervals with walking! Now it gets to be fun. I wouldn’t worry about how fast you are until you get used to running for longer. You can do it!

I’m using Strava to record my runs at the moment. I like to see the little map you get! And using Strava makes me feel like a runner πŸ˜‚. It’s the little things! Plus, one of my sons runs too and he can leave me comments and, hopefully, be proud of his Mum!

Good luck with your first 25 minute run and remember to take it slowly!

Good luck πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Cheers!

How does it feel now you are a 'proper' runner? Did you have a celebration?

It’s starting to sink in! My life is in chaos right now. It’s a huge effort to be happy about anything. But graduating lifted my spirits and I went out with a friend for coffee and a cake πŸ˜€
