I was dreading this 20 minute run but thanks to all of your amazing advice I did it!
thatwasunexpected you were absolutely right, I was running too fast. I had my Fitbit on pace instead of time during the run. I forced myself to keep a pace no faster than 7min/K. I experimented and realised that my usual pace is about 6’30”. I did not get out of breath and I could have carried on running after the 20 minutes were over.
Nervousrunner, Japanese slow running was a revelation! I watched a video and it inspired me on my run.
Everyone, thank you for the kind words and advice, I’m over the moon! I was so happy I dance/walked my 5 mins cool down!

Amazing! That run is the toughest I’ve done but I felt so incredible afterwards. Congratulations!! I’m in my early 20s and play other sports so I’m generally fit but my average pace is still about 8 minutes, and I know that some people are much much slower. As Laura tells us, it’s about getting more km under your belt rather than being speedy, because you can always work on that later. Good luck on your next run!
I think comparing paces is confusing because some devices use minutes per mile and other per kilometre. I’m a new runner 44 year old woman so I’m guessing your pace is much faster than mine and it’s 8min per mile rather than kilometre. So confusing! 🤪
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊
