Help, I just can’t run, jog or travel any faster than walking

I have tried. I am able to walk at a reasonable pace for a few miles but, as soon as I try to jog or run I’m finished. A one hour aerobics class is not too much of a problem for me. I have always wanted to be able to jog but as soon as I move beyond a fast walk I’m gasping. I am female, 66 and fairly fit. I have tried the couch to 5k a few times but can’t seem to get beyond day 3. Any tips please?

Look up Japanese Slow Jogging. There is a video on You Tube which may help you. Good luck in your quest..

Hi,

Just take it slower than you walk. I sometimes find I walk faster than I 'run' but the key is you're not walking. You can do it.

I’ll give it a go. It initially seems strange to run slower than I walk! Many thanks I’ll let you know how it goes.
