I did my week 5 run 2 this morning. I genuinely couldn't see how I was going to run for 8 whole minutes twice. I was low key worrying about the Friday 20 minute run. However, this was totally achievable. I couldn't believe it when Jo Wiley said "You're half way through!" on the first run... I was like, what?!? already??! I literally cried when I finished the second run, I was just so happy that I did it, it was fun and challenging but, ultimately, totally do-able.
I have faith that I'm up to doing the 20 min run on Friday, but does anyone have any experience of this run? Is it particularly challenging? Any tips etc.?
Thanks!! x

Suffice to say that your faith WILL be rewarded - just take it nice and easy. Your body is now ready for it. You've got a LOT of running under your belt now - all excellent preparation for Friday and the weeks ahead.
MANTRA: Every run you've done prepares you for the next one!
Thank you!!! I will have a good look around. Sorry - new to this forum so just figuring it all out. I always think "Oh gosh, I won't be ready for that" and then, like you say, I get there and I smash it!
You're not alone in crying, this business of learning to run is strangely emotional!
The only advice I can give, is that you're more ready for it than you think you are. You've done all the prep work, so just enjoy it and trust in yourself.
I did it last Wednesday, and like everyone else, I started by not believing I could do it. I set off very slowly, and allowed myself to daydream about everything other than running, and all of a sudden, I had done it! It's a very good feeling!
Good afternoon LoneSagittarius , well done on completing W5R2!!
Hopefully this run showed you that you can have more confidence in yourself - you are capable of more than you may think!
As for Friday's 20 min, start really nice and slow. Focus on breathing through your nose and trying to stay relaxed. Take lots of little steps and keep on truckin'!
