This week is week 4 and I just completed run 2. That’s a total of 16 mins running within the overall time. I have definitely never run for that amount of time since dreading the 3000m in cross country running at school. I seem to find the last 5 min run easier than the first because I feel my breathing is more settled. The first 3 mins is harder. Does anyone else find this?

Well done - and yes, I find the first 5 minutes tough. For me, I think it’s part of the warming into the run process. Looking back over all my stats, the first kilometre is always the slowest, even when I get a really good average pace. Just go with it!

This is very common and we call it the Toxic 10 around here - where the body feel awful to begin with . It's simply warming up.
One way to improve this is make you your warm-up even more brisk - so maybe 10 mins of brisk walking and maybe some dynamic stretching. The warmer you are before your run, the better you'll feel.
