I needed to share this for any of you just starting out or struggling. I am 44 and could barely manage the 1 min runs in the first week. I only started this damn thing because the kids were getting bored of Joe Wicks and my normally-fit husband has an injury, so I’d become the one to have to exercise with them! They got bored of C25k too, of course, but I felt compelled to carry on.
I have never been fit. I hated sport at school and don’t even get me started on cross country. Eurgh.
BUT now! Now I can run for 30 minutes!
I still get nervous before a run, I’m always having to fight the voices telling me to put it off a day.
And I’m not very fast!
But I’ve got to 3.9km in my 30 so I’m going to keep going with consolidation runs and see what happens, maybe try some interval training.
This programme is amazing. Just trust in it and listen when it tells you to run at a pace you can just about hold a conversation. Forget the bit about counting breaths! Mouthing along with the lyrics of my music has helped me!
Good luck to all of you and thanks to everyone else who shared their experiences, it’s really helped me to find this community ❤️
So proud!
