Finished week 4 of consolidation. Managed 4.82kms in 35 minutes. I have got to say that I am truly pleased with that. Up from 4.2 kms at the start of the week. Also weight is starting to come of now, nearly a whole stone gone. I feel fitter, stronger and getting happier.

That’s brilliant and you seem to be doing this properly. Great time / distance combo. I am still super slow and 5k takes me about 50 minutes! I am thinking of using the laura stepping stones podcasts
Thanks, and well done to you! it's hard but, I cant miss a run. Try the stepping stones, I find it really helps running to the beat. I tried the stamina run but that nearly finished me. Let me know if you try it...keep going
That's great progress. Well done Rinky1 - great feeling isn't it.
I'm at a similar stage to you, 2nd consolidation run tonight. I found having something to track (pace, distance, time, heart rate etc) has really helped me.
I struggled with my 1st consolidation run - I felt heavy and the run felt tough from the start. but when I look at the progress and especially my heart rate I can see now how it now takes longer to get to it's max, and where it used to get up to about 180bpm after 3 or 4 minutes now I'm at around 170bpm after 15 minutes and its only really when I push it hard for the last 1.5 mins of a run that it peaks. I too am looking at distance next. I'd love to to get to the magic 30min 5k, but I'm about 3.5 minutes off that at the moment and my longest run so far was my 1st consolidation run as I pushed it to 37 minutes. I still really enjoy the 5 minute walk at the end as I find it much more satisfying than just stopping running at my door. plus I've added a few stretches post running now that I wasn't doing before.
keep up the runs and I'm sure you'll progress even further - stay safe and enjoy the journey.
Well done, keep up with the consolidation runs and both speed and distance will improve, certainly did for me, just by running regularly. I know what you mean about feeling fitter and stronger, I share that sentiment also.
