Week 2 πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Week 2 Run 3 is complete!! My right side is still hurting 😱 I think I’m putting too much pressure on that side when I run I’m not sure - I’m going to begin practicing yoga to see if it’ll fix any imbalance and have bought a muscle roller to try and reduce the chance of major injury as much as possible. Does anyone have any tips or advice? I’m beginning to enjoy the runs now apart from the annoying ache πŸ˜–

Well done.

Are you running on a level surface?

It is a well known issue with runners who always run the same route on a cambered road or pavement and the answer is to run an equal distance in the opposite direction.

Asymmetries are very common and are best assessed and corrected by a physio.

I try running on as flat as a surface as possible but - thank you I’ll try running in the opposite direction and see if that helps

As well as the advice from admin,

Have you had a gait analysis?

Could be your running style and /or running shoes

in reply to Instructor57

No I haven’t - it’s probably something to do with that πŸ˜‚

Are you carrying anything by hand?

in reply to davelinks

Yeah I carry a light water bottle in my left hand

If you're holding something, you'll create tension and imbalance in your upper body. No matter the object -- a water bottle, an iPod, a set of keys -- holding something alters your form and makes you exert more energy. And the more effort you expend, and the faster you may tire.

Ok thanks for that - I’ll keep that in mind πŸ‘πŸ»
