Well I decided to go out and severe my ties to Jo. OMG I missed her telling me I can do this had to just tell myself !! Love the feeling of completing it though makes me feel so virtuous all day. !πŸ˜‡

I used runkeeper to do the timing which was good. I’ve devised a route that is out and back to make the whole thing including the walks about 4k on Strava. My husband cane with me ! I def prefer going alone. His Strava said we’d gone less distance and much slower !!! Sadly he can walk at the speed I jog !! 😒🀣

Has anyone else found Strava unreliable ?

Well done! And no Jo! πŸ˜³πŸ‘πŸ½

Yes, I know that virtuous feeling. Have never tried Strava.

But have run/walked with my husband (e.g. me run - he walks... backward sometimes). But he is a cross country runner with various half marathons and 10ks under his (slim 😀) belt. Currently recuperating from an injury he has also started C25k, but I am the only person in the house that can show off that shiny graduation badge.... therefore virtuous again! πŸ˜‰

Great stuff, well done!

I had a suspicion my strava wasn’t accurate so will definitely try runkeeper. Be interesting to see.

Would love to know the results! And for mapping out the distance of a route exactly, I use Footpath (on IOS) which is really fab for planning routes (free version allows 5 routes to be saved). πŸ—Ί πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘πŸ½

Hi Delgirl. Great to see you doing well on consolidation runs. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.

People pass me all the time when I’m β€œrunning”. I don’t care cos I know I’m doing a good thing for myself and making progress.

Speed will come. For you and me. And I will be watching your progress as I am following behind. So lead the way and be proud.

Keep it up πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ’ͺπŸ˜€

Ps. I’m not sure I trust Strava either

My Strava is fine, I mapped my route out and Strava records the same as what google said it was 😊

Well done, you don’t need Jo now, you are a runner. She was my coach too and I took her with me to my first parkrun. Something I hope all you newbie runners will be able to try one day. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ•πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸšΆπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ

I can highly recommend getting a gps watch at some point as they are more accurate than phone apps. My Garmin downloads to strava automatically so all records can be kept, but the Garmin connect app is also great. I still take my phone for music but once paired by Bluetooth I can just keep it in my flip belt and can control everything on the watch.

My (Fast) hubby runs with me sometimes too, but it’s important to run your own run and not get pulled along too fast. I think he realises that a run at my pace does him good every now and then. πŸ˜‰

All the best for your running journey; c25k is a life changer.

Never downloaded Strava, just use MauMyRun and it seems pretty good πŸ€”
