π Note to self - do not do two runs with hills in one after the other again, no matter how beautiful the view!! π£
I do keep to the strict rest day rule and I am following the 5/30/5 splits of week 9 for my consolidation runs, but I think my legs might appreciate an extra day of rest after repeating this run from Friday. βΊοΈ
Happy and safe running everyone, ππββοΈπ³
It is one of my favourite places and I walk it regularly with the dog. I was inspired to run it on Friday and repeat it today - mad woman - but the view is worth it.
Love your note to self, I think we can expect a lot of ourselves in these consolidation days π
Iβve just had 2 rest days again between runs and reduced to just one climb per run until I can feel stronger at the end of the 30 mins.
Lovely view, I can see why you were tempted π€

I am going to aim for a more level route next time! I keep telling myself that the hills will make me stronger but my sensible head is saying to do them every once in a while is enough!
Wow great view, wish i could be as strict as you with 5/30/5, i didn't do any warm ups on me last runs and I paid the price - stopping in between runs. Need to get my discipline back up ;). Have good weekend, stay safe x
I am strict with myself having spent a chunk of last year on the IC!! I don't want to go back on it! I need to do the warm up walk and stretches before and after each run and they have just been part of my routine. My husband heads out on his run doing none of that and yesterday he really suffered π¬. He's not done the C25k plan, having been an occasional runner over the years, and there's no telling him any different!! I'm hoping he'll take a leaf out of my book at some point π.
Hope he does :), went for a run earlier today, made sure i did at least 6/7 minutes warm up walk and post run walk/ yoga. Feel so much better for it:), big thanks.
After my first run of wk 9 the old glutes were throbbing and aching again. Hip flexors groaning a bit too. So have done loads of yoga stretches so am ok for run tomorrow! Have to say the legs do let you know if they are not happy!
Beautiful run that you have. Mine is on boring road!
Oops, take care Delly-Dot! Enjoy the sunshine for now and have a nice eash run next time! I live in a flat part of the country and even slopes kill me!
I started with hills last autumn. It is a great way of building up leg strength and gives the heart and lungs a good work out too...but as you say, best not overdo it until you get used to it. I find that just walking steeper hills with our dog onβrestβ days does us all good.
Ooh this sounds very professional. I am most impressed...may need to get motivated and follow your lead. Well done, Delly-dot. Great image as always. ππ
