Woke Early and looked to see if Laura was online …guess what she was 🥰 so I repeated Week 9 Run 3 ….Drizzly skies and ran a new route because    ToothPickJafah has inspired me to !! Definitely eerie streetlights going on with the odd car and truck thundering past and I ran my first proper hill too 💪….needed to get out my comfort zone of my usual route and you know what I loved it …I could have carried on after my 30 minutes but I’m still being sensible ….day off from work for me today so home and showered got the house 🏠 Spick and span ….got a few jobs to do for my lovely wife …took my electrolytes and going to make a nice ginger tea with honey and lemon 👌 Nap this afternoon I feel 😴

Whatever your doing today make it a great one!! no running until Monday now and I’m thinking should I increase my distance and time a little because I do have my first parkrun and the 12th Aug ? Any advice appreciated 😊

Thanks 🙏 xx

Congratulation's Running4Life1 on graduating from C25K, no need for the moment to increase your distance, I wish you good luck for your first parkrun on the 12th August, I hope you enjoy it.

Hi you're doing so well. The advice is to run no more than 30 minutes for a few weeks until those 30 minutes feel really, really comfortable. Try some Nike Run Club app runs and mix it up maybe some fartlek (speed play). Don't worry about parkrun. It's very inclusive and many will walk or walk/ run. It's not a race its a run to enjoy at your pace. My first parkrun I started way back in the field so as not to get run down by the speedy pack and then I ran and walked and ran and walked and ran. It was ace. Hope you enjoy yours.

Congratulations on another great run-especially that hill! Parkrun is really inclusive so you don’t have to run the whole thing.

Do you know how far you’re covering at the moment? One way to reach 5k is thing is simply to add a couple of minutes on to one run each week until you get there. No more than 10% at a time is the often recommended maximum increase. There’s also a suggested programme that could be followed here…

There’s absolutely no rush though. Taking it steady and seeing how you go is a good plan. You’ll have a great time at parkrun I’m sure!

Hi thanks for your advice 😊 I’m averaging 4.6k in my 30 mins

Oh you’re practically there! It’ll only take you about 33 minutes at that rate. I don’t think you need to do anything different before the parkrun. Just keep it steady and enjoy!

Awesome, just keep doing what you are and take the advice of others who have commented.Parkrun, aaaah my new favourite thing, I've run 2 and volunteered 1 and don't do what I did!!! I started near the back but was still running way too fast for me so was walking by first kilometre. The second one I did a good warm up walk at the beginning and then trotted on at a comfortable pace then took walk breaks when needed. This week I plan to do 1 minute run 1 minute walk and see how long it takes me, so you see you can run it your way 😁

Thank you 😊 I’m planning to run my 30 mins and walk the rest but I won’t start near the front I will be the wallflower at the back 😂👌

Sounds like you are doing brilliantly to me! And good luck with the parkrun, that’s my aim too! I’m doing my third consolidation run today. But so far have strangely found the first two harder! I think it’s psychological, because I know I can do it, it’s just because the programme has finished and I’m going solo kind of thing. Stupid really!!!

Sounds like you are so close to 5k already and in just over 30 mins that’s pretty rapid. You will have no problem at parkrun. Have fun and love to hear how it all goes! I’ve got my wristband ready to have a go soon!

Congratulations on your consolidation run 4 and a hill too! Well done on your hill run. I still have a struggle sometimes with the hills where I live. However I still manage to run part of the inclines. So I think you’re amazing. However if I was you I wouldn’t be in such a rush to increase your distance. Just enjoy your consolidation for the moment maybe with a gradual increase but no more than 10% at a time.

Enjoy your parkrun on the 12th . They are a great way to meet like minded people and I think it’s such a good way to see just how well you’ve done and how far you’ve come within your running experience.

Good luck!😂👍👍
