Hi Dejamad and welcome 😀C25K is a great programme to use for losing weight and increasing your fitness and stamina. Take it slowly at first when your running as you need to pace yourself and save enough energy to complete the run.

Losing the weight you have is very impressive and shows your a determined person. So I’m sure you’ll enjoy this new challenge and do great.......Good Luck with your journey. 🏃‍♀️

There’s loads of friendly folk on here with lots of help and support when you need it.

Hi Dejam

I’ve lost just over 4 stone since January. I finished the C25K 4 weeks ago and I’m continuing to run.

The running has aided my weight loss but it’s also diet as well.

You know you can do it. Well done on your initial weight loss, I’m sure the determination is still there.

I’ve love doing the C25K and you will find the group on here incredibly supportive. I look forward to following your journey.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Week 9, Run 1 completed. Down 11 kg since I started the programme. Combination of exercise and strict diet but very do-able and quite proud of myself. Just edged into BMI ‘normal’ weight zone after many years of being technically overweight. New wardrobe will not be cheap, but is a price I would have paid at the outset. I am 57 and not exercised like this for years.

Hi Dejamad, good luck with your journey, it's a brilliant program and got me running (something I never thought I could ever do)! What I have found since graduating is even a shorter run is better than a no run, I might not have lost very much weight but my legs look good from running so I just try and focus on the good points. Sure it's a battle to maintain or lose weight and I have to keep trying but I also want to enjoy life and not get too hung up about it.

Ps You look amazing in your photo.

After a park run last year a lady said to me "you look like a runner", what a lift that gave me.🥰

If I can run so can you. Just do the plan.

Take each run slowly, it is not a race.

I think doing just a diet can be like a you.

Once you start you will continually be thinking of new routes, speed (slow is best), breathing, posture, exercise pre and post run, clothes, trainers etc. It will become all consuming, and you can get all the advice you need here.

After a while you'll ask yourself why not start years ago.

Good luck and stay injury free.
