First ever actual 5K πŸ’ͺ🏼

Over the moon. This evening I went on my 3rd run after graduating. I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to complete the 4.2K loop I’d managed in my 30 min runs so far. But just planned to stick to it. Pace myself. And get it done.

Managed to pace really well and felt good as I reach my β€˜finishing corner’ so decided to keep going to see if I could do 5K. I only bloody did it πŸ˜† so chuffed. I felt able to do more too but stuck to all the advice I’ve read and didn’t push my luck. Going to keep going with 30 mins/5K’s for a few more weeks πŸ˜‹

But my first 5K in 36 mins I’m buzzing πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ₯‡πŸ†πŸ’ͺ🏼

Brilliant and a great motivation for others including me! I graduated yesterday with my best distance so far of 4.3k. Planning my first consolidation run tomorrow and looking forward to aiming for that 5k target. Very well done to you. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Sounds like you won’t be far behind at all πŸ‘πŸ» it’s very satisfying to now just be able to go do a 30 min run.

Thankyou ☺️ good luck with your consolidation runs πŸ‘πŸ»

Thank you so much πŸ‘First consolidation run on Sunday, managed 5k in 34m 47s. Second run tonight, managed 5k in 33m 31s. I'm quite enjoying this! πŸ˜€

Great stuff, careful not to over do it, keep your 30 minutes going 3 times a week, and maybe push to 5 k 1 in 3 or 4 runs. I did this this and gradually pushed this additional run up to 10k OR worked on speed to get to 5k in 30 mins. Now achieved both at 52

Amazing!

Yes exactly what I was thinking. Mostly 30 mins with the odd push to 5K. β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘πŸ»

So many other people have written about not getting over excited and pushing too far. I’m very much heading that advice πŸ˜‹πŸ’ͺ🏼

Awesome! Well Done You! I remember my first 5k, after several 30 mins - it's great. I'm still some way off 6mins/km but I'm still running and loving it, really: changed my life a bit to boot!πŸ˜† Wishing you every enjoyment and success with your running future!

Thankyou ☺️

No idea how long it’ll be before I can do it in 30 mins but I will keep going πŸ‘πŸ»

You too πŸ˜‰

Hi! I'm now at 6.3k, although that's at around 7.5 / 8 minutes per kilometre... It's great! We all go at our own best pace, whatever that is! Hope it's sunny down your way today!
