Never trained for 10k, no particular interest was satisfied running 5k at 73 in 33.33 minutes. Now this morning I decided to do 6k on the basis that it would do my 5k time good. So I kept on running past my turnaround point and realised later that I had run 5k so I just had to run back and 10 k was the result. No it was not a great time but it was still my first 10k. Thats the problem of being old you just don't realise what you are doing.๐๐
What a 10k mistake to make: Never trained for... - Couch to 5K
What a 10k mistake to make
Youโre not old hamit! Congratulations on your first 10k, what a brilliant achievement, especially as you werenโt planning for it! I enjoy those runs where we โjust keep goingโ and see what happens! Go you!๐๐๐๐
Congratulations on completing your first 10K, however, as you are OK it's not advisable just to run from 5K straight to 10K, most people do it gradually like doing JuJu's Magic 10 or increasing by 1K a week until they get to 10K.
Once again well done, to get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE10 next to your username leave a message on July Graduate10 homepage and tell the administrators that you have ran your first 10K ๐ ๐ ๐๐พ ๐
I can be really tired after a 10k run.
How do you feel (besides being very happy)?
Congratulations.
Glass of merlot and some camembert. But no clubbing for me tonight๐
Go you my friend ๐ what a fab mistake to make. Iโm thrilled to bits for you and I hope you didnโt kick those purple snails ๐
A great achievement but it is much better to plan your runs, especially the weekly increase in distance and employ the 10% rule to avoid doing too much too soon.
Take care.
Yes I totally agree with you however at 73 I grab what opportunities fate throws my way.
Incredible! Well done ๐
I love that you kind of accidentally ran a 10k... that sounds like the stuff of dreams, oh yeah, made a mistake so just kept on running, no bother!! ๐๐ฅฐ Wow!! Well done ๐ โ
Well old guys get confused sometimes. To be honest I was enjoying the run.
