Oh my goodness that was a battle.... I was working today and usually I get up early and run first but I was too exhausted.... i trundled into work and spent all day on my feet.
Got home at 20:15, had a glass of water chucked on my running gear and went out to go week 9 run 1 .
Well I didn’t want to go. My legs were heavy and tired from a busy day (I am a midwife). I hadn’t eaten since 12:15 and all I wanted if I’m entirely honest was a glass of wine and some dinner but I bloody did it!
I couldn’t go to my new found nice path route as the park closes at 8pm so I had to run local on trails and an elevation gain of 30m... so proud of myself. It would have been so easy to have not gone out today but I didn’t give up!

Well done for getting out there after a busy day and not much fuel. You should defo be proud. Maybe have a quick snack before you go next time. You NHS workers are amazing!
Wow! Determination in spades! Well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. I’m worried about how to fit in running when I’m back at work fully and it’s full on with early starts and long days on my feet. I hope I have some of your grit then.
I also have to juggle work with running. It's not easy, so end up going at various times of the day and the hottest sometimes. Well done & don't give up the sense of achievement is wonderful
Thank you to you all for your lovely comments I am blown away!
It’s weird times at the moment and I have really enjoyed seeing people’s journeys on this forum and part of me being able to get up and do my run yesterday after work was the positive and supportive community I read on here.
It’s not easy is it! I’m on call tonight and my next run is tomorrow so I’m hoping I don’t get called out so I don’t have to rearrange my run 🤪. I will draw the line at running following a working all night I think 😂
Well done you! I totally get that - I'm always thinking of excuses why I can't run today - too busy, too tired, too late etc etc. But I now tell myself NO is not an option! Just get out there and before know it, it's done - and how much better are we for it!!!!
Well done you - that’s fantastic. Huge respect, for your profession and your commitment. I have never run in the evening, and am not an early morning person either. Luckily I’m retired - so run before lunchtime. I’m sure running will be wonderful for stress relief after work - as well as enjoying that glass of wine. 🍷🍷🍷
