ENDURANCE AKA STAMINA, seems to be the key to long distance running/jogging, the mind will always makes us want to go faster but being realistic and listening to the app advice that's a big no no.
After all I keep reminding my self after 12 weeks in I cannot expect to be able to run/jog at a fast pace, as with everything considered age, being, illness, willpower, conditions etc the list is endless.
So I stuck to the app, and when I look back to WK1R1, I could not believe it, I was puffed out after 30sec of the 1min run/jog I could not believe how poor unfit I was.
Now I'm at 60min run/jog ,but on average just doing 5k until I'm fully condioned, then will revert back to 30min run daily.
The slow slow slow approach is best, it is sad/embarrassing in the early days and even now when Gazelle type runner's going flying past you and those approaching you galloping gives that slight grin"yeah look at me" but I just laugh and say to myself its not a race.
So stamina is the key to long distance running ,following the app is vital over your head.good luck everyone in your journey. 😷🙂🏃♂️🌈🤞

Slow steady jogging is so important if you want to get faster, there was a great link put on here by someone but I can't remember who but it wasn't so long ago, in the last week for a guess.
It links to an article where an ultra runner and coach tells his students to run slowly and it goes into the health and science parts of it to, a great article.
Last year I was jogging for an hour plus, I just used to plod along.
I've never really had any issues with most runners, they smile, most speak with either a good morning or hello but I'm never had anyone make me feel uncomfortable. I must just have think skin.
As long as you are enjoying your run then who cares what anyone else thinks? I run for me, I care what I think and that's all.
absolutely, I always pass other runners and they all seem to be running much faster and easier than me, and I'm only competing against myself, but I always end up making excuses like, ;oh I've just started running' as if I have to justify myself!!!
