Blood Pressure medication reduced

I hope this is OK to post here. Just maybe as some encouragement for others on similar medication. I completed C25K back in August 2018 (I failed my first attempt at W1R1 I was so unfit). I've kept up the running and not looked back, increasing my speed and distance. This week my GP reduced my BP meds back to the dosage I was first on ten years ago as I have been recording low BP and heart rates and further reductions should follow. Yes I've lost a ton of weight too, but I have no doubt that it all stems from my running, which wouldn't have started without C25K.

Stick with the plan. It works. It really can change your life for the better.

That’s great to hear AMH, I’m a gentleman of a certain stature, and I’m also hoping to lose a lot of weight... 23st to start, so aiming for 20st and 5k in the first instance!

Thanks for giving my hope a little boost!!

Thanks Sedge. And good luck on your journey. I found with my initial weight loss I didn't let the occasional blip bother me. My smart scales app always showed me the trend and as long as that was down that was fine with me.

Have been on a diet and this program for 6 weeks and now off blood pressure medication altogether since a significant reduction in my BP. So yes it definitely works and so worth while doing. Recommend to everyone as so many other benefits too👍

This is v good news. I’ve been on BP meds for years. If this program get me off then I’d be a very happy granny.

Great news and great post. Thanks. 😀

Ok to post here? Hell yes... this is the kind of post that kept me going through the plan and a couple of injuries. Im hoping that you post that you’re off the meds altogether in due course.

This is what running is all about... numbers around pace are insignificant when compared to the number of mg in a medication that can reduce with good living and exercise is a huge part of that.

Happy running.

Thank you! I'm sadly probably on too many tablets to come off completely, but my goal is to be off beta blockers due to their impact on training. It has become almost impossible to get into heart rate zone 5 recently so if I can achieve that in the next 12 months I shall be very happy!

This is the encouragement I need. So chuffed for you - changing your own path is so hard but you’ve done it. Downloaded the C25K app - my turn now! Peace ✌️
