This is my first ever post, but I need some motivation as I’m feeling deflated!
My last run was on Monday w7r2, today is Friday and I’ve just not managed to get out due to the heat this week. I always have the most energy to run around 4pm but that has been impossible as it’s reached 30degrees near me this week. I am not a morning person 🤣
Will it matter if I wait until tomorrow or Sunday to do w7r3? Thats a 4/5 day gap? Weather is going to break this weekend.
Why am I feeling guilty? I want to learn to run and enjoy it but I need to get over the guilt when I can’t go or simply don’t want to 🤔
I also suffer for exercise induced migraines so any advice with those too would be appreciated! Ive only had one so far during the course (w7r1) but it has scared me off a little.
Thanks ☺️

Firstly well done for getting this far into the programme!
My personal opinion is that it will not matter if you wait until tomorrow or Sunday. Listen to your body. You will still complete your run if you've had a few days off, you may even perform better 😉
The fact you feel guilty is only showing that your dedicated to the programme so you must be enjoying it somewhat because else you would feel relieved that your missing the runs... Not guilt.
Are you drinking enough water throughout the day? I know I am guilty of slacking on this and my migraines worsen when I am not hydrated.
I think this week is very unusual, we know this very hot weather won't last. Personally I am very bad in the heat, I just cannot exercise when it is very hot, it makes me feel ill. I've done two early morning runs this week and that was quite warm enough.
I would suggest waiting until the weather cools down a bit if you can only run late afternoon, a few days of rest won't make a big difference to your fitness. I don't get migraines but I do get a headache if I am dehydrated. It's very important to drink plenty of water every day, not just on the day that you run.
Run when it's cooler 😉 I just ran through the heat and I thought my head will explode. I have the same problem with headaches after hard exercise. It helped me to cut out alcohol, drink plenty the day before the run and most importantly, not to overdo it 😄 the headaches are usually a sign, I tried to hard 🙈
Sounds v sensible to me. I also delayed my (final!) run by 2 days but it didn’t seem to matter once I got started. Some people are ok with the heat but I’ve never been one of ‘em. You haven’t given up, just had a very mini break. Weather is cooler tomorrow, thank goodness 👍
