Absolutely scorching out, podcast malfunctioned and I wanted to give up seven minutes in so I did a few of those recommended 'Just run till you get to the lamp post/traffic light/bus stop' manoeuvres and then it was just one foot in front of another till the 30 mins was up. It's the first time I haven't enjoyed a run AT ALL and I honestly can't even muster up the positivity to say I'm glad it's out of the way and I'm happy I did it.
Anyone else ever felt blah after a run? How did you deal with it?

Hehe I know the type you mean, over the years I have had a few and they come in two categories 1) I am actually too tired for the run, bad nights sleep, stress etc or 2) I am about to come down with something. Usually it is the first and it happens more in the summer when my nights sleep gets disrupted by being too hot, you just can’t find anything to be happy about the run, not even the fact you did it. Lucky it is not too often and next one will feel better, happy running. Rfc x
Thanks so much RFC for this. It totally looks like a number 1 situation to me. I hadn't given a thought to the fact that due to the heat I actually didn't fall asleep till just before dawn! I'd just always thought that no matter what the conditions I'd always feel good post-run.
To the next one indeed and thanks again for the enlightening reply. Happy running back at you!
Yeah me! I went out this morning on a 5k Consolidation Run and changed to a brisk walk 4 times, which is something I’ve never done before so I can definitely say it was a blah blah run....next time will be better, stick with it, treat it as a training run, at least we got out there and did it👍
Argh you too! Well done on getting through it! I genuinely admire your discipline in being able to change to brisk walk. Had I attempted that today i just KNOW the walk would have turned into to a stroll...Back home! You are absolutely right, i'll take it as a training run to prep me for the next one.
