I enjoyed my run immensely this morning. I really didn't feel like running uphill today so I chose a flatter route along an old railway bank. I felt that I managed to get into a really good rhythm and the run just flew by. There were several other runners around, all of whom wished me a good morning. There was no rain but it was still really humid at 6.30 am. I was so happy when I stopped Strava to see that I had run 5k. I'm still beaming now.
To top it all I have been for a gait analysis this morning and am now the proud owner of a snassy pair of Brooks Ghost 12 running shoes. I promised myself a treat at the end of the programme but I felt that I couldn't wait especially as I have a day off and the fact that I achieved 5k.
I am really looking forward to my last run of the programme and trying out my new footwear. I am planning to do the local parkrun route, hills included. While I don't think I will achieve the 5k in 30 minutes I really don't mind as I managed 4.78k in 30 minutes doing the same hilly route last Saturday. Unfortunately due to work commitments I will not be doing the graduation run until Saturday, but it gives my legs a change to be fresh for the run so maybe I will achieve a better distance. Who knows?
Good luck to everyone else running today.
