Week 9 Run 3

Two months ago I’d never have thought that I could become a runner. A back injury last August meant several months of inactivity, overeating, and a fair bit of feeling sorry for myself. I was worried that this would be my life now - unfit, overweight and miserable. My Physio (a runner himself) said that running could help with my rehabilitation - as long as I started slowly - cue C25K 😊. I really struggled at the beginning, but fast forward to Week 9 and I’ve Graduated! I ran for 30 mins, and felt ok, so managed to make it to 5K, in 34.41 mins! I’m elated! This has made such a difference to my life, I am fitter and happier - I can’t imagine not running now. There are so many things in life that we can’t change, so I decided to focus on something that I could, my health and fitness. Running has been good for me mentally and physically, and I’m grateful that this programme is here to help people achieve what we thought was impossible for us. Keep at it, the programme works, and the benefits are huge! Happy running! 🏃‍♀️ 🏃🏻‍♂️

Congrats Sharon_B - well done for persevering & thanks for the encouragement. I did my W1R2 along the seafront yesterday & really enjoyed it. Hoping to get to shops later to buy some proper running shoes.
