Week 4 done

Hi all.

I have just completed week 4, not sure how I managed it this morning after having a few glasses of Prosecco last night with my friend!

Start of week 5 this week, feeling ok about it. If I have day rests my run 3 would be next Monday. I know you shouldn’t run everyday and have rest days, but I rally want to complete week 5 on Sunday, as I am returning to work on days, and really don’t want to do the 20 min run after being at work all day for the first time!

Has anyone else do 2 runs in 2 days?

I did one of my runs after a night's drinking wine and it went okay, I was surprised, but told myself off and drank loads of water to make up for it.

Trust me, you do not want to do week 5 run 3 the very next day after run 2. Week 5 run 3 is a milestone in the programme, and you will be ready for it if you have followed all the advice in the programme, which means taking at least one, if not two, rest days before you tackle it. There are lots of posts from the admin people about the importance of taking rest days so that your body has fully recovered before the next run and you don't suffer injuries.

Good Luck!

I was going to do run 1 tomorrow, but only completed week 4 today. Then run 2 on Friday ready for Sunday.

Have a search on this forum for rest days, there is some very good advice. Personally I have never been tempted to run two days in a row, and since week 5 I have taken two days rest rather than just one, and it has worked for me.

I haven’t before, but I really want to done the 20 min run early in the morning for the first one and not after being at work for 9.5 hours.

I would then go back to my rest days as normal. This would just be a one off.

Would then try and do Friday/Sunday then just one run after work on the week. I don’t work Friday’s so 2 days I can run early x

Can you run before work? I do this the days I'm working as I know for a fact I wouldn't go out after.

I did think about this but would mean I need to get up at 4.30! Need to leave for work at 6.30 am.
