I’m surprised to find I finished W4 yesterday. I’m using the Japanese Slow Jogging method and hope that that is a legitimate way to nail C25K.
Yesterday while I was slow jogging, an older couple strolled past me walking their dog. My own dog, who comes with me, gave me a scornful look as if do say ‘ For heaven’s sake mum, speed up won’t you? It’s shameful being overtaken by a strolling pair of pensioners and a lazy lab. They walk faster than you run!‘ Does he have a point?

Your dog unfortunately doesn't have a point there! Nothing wrong with being slow right now - your pace will build overtime! People overtook me in the first few weeks and it was discouraging but now it doesn't bother me, I'll be quicker when my body is ready for it. Good luck!
There is a tendency on this forum to say there is no "too slow", but you should be pushing to the upper limit of running as fast as you can but still being able to maintain a conversation as you run, as explained in the guide to the plan.
I guess I’m over cautious, but I’m overweight, in my sixties, with asthma and arthritis, so not wanting to take too many chances. I get fairly easily puffed so not going to be chatting to anyone if I can help it. But I hear what you say. Thanks. I’ll try harder.
It’s when Captain Tom overtakes you, you need to worry....you’re doing fine, some oldies walk quite quickly, their lab was probably pulling them along and increasing their pace. Stick with it it’s all about stamina and fitness 👍
