So I've now done this run 7 times, spaced over 3 weeks because I got quite ill in the middle and it just wasn't going well for me running wise.
But today I was feeling better so went out, after not running for a few weeks, and totally smashed it. I even felt like running an extra 5 minutes at the end so I did and I feel absolutely amazing. Really glad I took this one at my own pace. People on here had advised me to move on once I had completed the run, but for me it is all about your mental state. I truly wanted to run further today and that's how I know I'm ready for week 4.
Excited to get back into this, apologies I've been away for a while but I hadn't given up. I'll be back to regular posting from now on.
Here's to 5k before Christmas.

I appreciate the need to advise people on here but every single time I post on here, about anything, someone tells me to 'stick to the plan'. It honestly makes me not want to be on here. I know my body, I know how I felt and my own running history, I am absolutely fine so please, stop telling me to stick to the plan. There is no set way to get into running and whilst this is a great plan, people should be able to adjust their exercise to fit how they feel.
If this is something you have to do as an administrator then I understand, but please note it is quite alienating.
Okay, what you do is entirely up you.....we just offer advice designed to help people get through the plan without injury, so every time that you mention that you have exceeded the plan we will point out that the safest route is to stick to the plan, to discourage others from following a less safe way to become a runner. We are thinking of our wider readership, not just you.
The plan is proven to work. Making it up as you go is not........
That is totally fair and I understand your reasoning but there are nicer and more positive ways to say this, maybe a less hostile tone would make people feel more welcome and open to your advice. I know you’re just trying to keep people safe in the end though.
