Week 6 run 2

So just finished week 6 run 2. However I’m now overcome with fear realising there’s no more walking breaks.... only 25, 28 and 30 min runs left 🙈

I managed week 5 run 3 and I was ok. Feel like this is now a mental battle 😱 any tips?

You will find that it is actually easier than stopping and starting - slow and steady and even slower! This is the bit where all your prep comes together and you will amaze yourself. Get through the first few minutes when you want to give up and you will breeze it! Get your playlist going and do it - I remember being there and my head telling me there was no chance - but there is and you can! It is exciting!

Yes I agree. You’ve got this far so you can definitely do it.

Yes... just run.. steadily and slowly... these runs are just perfect for that.

Relax.... the runs are made for relaxing into... your newly forming running legs know exactly what they have to do... just go with them.. land lightly... I call it kissing the ground with your feet... look round take everything in...:)

Trust the plan and know that you can do this:)

You don't need to become overcome with fear, trust the program, trust yourself, you managed run 3 of week 5 with no problems whatsoever, many people are glad that there are no more walking breaks after run 2 of week 6, now take the longer runs until graduation slowly, you will be fine, onwards and upwards.

You can do it! I had the same thoughts as you and I now have one run left of week 8 before moving onto week 9 on Monday. Listen to the advice above as it really helped me. It's now a mental challenge as, if you've got this far, you can definitely do it physically. You've been building fitness all the way, so you're more than ready. Slow, steady and its yours!

I did it..... I absolutely nailed it and feel like I had a bit left in the tank! I’m almost in tears I’m so immensely proud of myself right now. I cannot wait for week 7! I’m already thinking about entering a local 5km. Thank you for the support! X
