On the one hand I'm buzzing that I started to C25k journey and I managed to complete my first two runs... on the other hand my right leg just below the knee is so painful I can bearly walk.... It's not swollen but I put ice on it anyway..... but felt no difference. Is this probably due to landing on my leg wrong Am I best resting it trying to walk it out do I have to stop running? Well jogging very slowly?
Is this pretty normal? Does anyone have any advice?

Hi I left a day between the first two runs I went out for a walk instead my leg was hurting then too so I took it easy I was hoping that gentle exercise would help. I was planning on leaving a couple of days until run 3 but now I just don't know how to help it recover in the meantime I not sure if I twisted it on the first run......so frustrating. .... hope your C25K journey is pain free Thanks for replying
Yes, I think you’re right not to push it while it’s hurting. I’ve rested for a few days between certain runs if I feel uncomfortable. Can you get an e-consultation with your GP? I had one recently ( for a skin problem) and it was quite simple. Didn’t need to go out of the house even. Good luck. Hope you get some more replies.
I’ve got bad knees too, so much that I considered quitting. I did manage to do to run 3 week 2 on Friday but have been in pain since. It is subsiding a bit, I’m using tiger balm, ibuprofen, doing gentle knee strengthening exercises and drinking lots of water. Last night the pain had almost gone but then I woke up this morning in pain again.
I had ordered new trainers as I need support but they didn’t fit, a 4th pair is on order and if these aren’t right I’m going to wait until shops are open for gait analysis and proper fitting.
I hope you feel an improvement soon, it’s not nice when you’re body lets you down. It made me feel really low for a few days.
It's annoying isn't it I do hope you feel better and that you get the right trainers soon. I think I'll look up soon knee exercises and do a couple of days of those.
