Knee Injury

Hi all, still new to this and I think I may have injured my left knee. I posted on Monday about struggling to do my week 3 run and came back from it and was in a lot of pain, especially my left leg. Rested up for a couple of days but my left knee still feels very sore. I have been doing rice and as said still new to this all. Today I thought I’d try and go for a walk and just couldn’t do it. Do you guys have any other tips on recovery? It definitely feels injured and I’m so sad that I can’t run or even walk on it at the moment.

I would see if you can consult your GP or physio.

Persistent knee pains can be caused by a variety of issues and it is impossible, nor wise to take a diagnosis from the well meaning but largely medically unqualified folk on this forum.

When you start back follow the advice on minimising impact and knee strengthening in the guide.

Maybe some ibuprofen might help the inflammation subside more quickly?

As above... there’s strengthening work to do that will really help in the long term, but you need to be pain free, or checked out by a physio, to start that so that you can avoid any of them that could make the injury worse.

Your fitness journey can continue though... over on the Strength and Flex forum we have some seated workouts that will get the heart pumping... there’s plenty of seated cardio on YouTube too, but have a watch of them before attempting them, the odd one doesn’t fit the brief as they suddenly switch to some legwork.

Hopefully it’ll settle soon, heal well.
