This morning I did my week 7 run 2 and only managed to run for 20 and had to stop during the run ... feeling really down as I’ve been doing so well and even managed to run a 5k last week but since then I’m struggling on every run ... should I go back and repeat week 6 ?? So deflated today ☹️

It might be your mind playing tricks on you.. physically you can do the run because you already have! And 20 minutes is 20 mins more than sitting on the settee. You are amazing to get this far. It will come back 🙂🙂

Thankyou I just feel so down now but I know it’s mental ... perhaps I’ll have a couple of rest days and start again after that ... Thankyou

Slow down and slow down again! Why did you run 5k? You’ve probably made your body tired. If you managed week 7 run 1, you don’t need to go back a week. Everyone has bad runs. They make the good ones sweeter.

The same thing happened to me on the same week and run. Seriously, my legs were like lead..I stopped three times, the first time since starting C25K. Like you I was really upset and was dreading W7R3 because I had worked so hard. I don't know much about running but I can tell you how I managed to get my head around it. I kept in touch with people on here and the support I received was amazing. Yesterday I was out the door at 6.00 am not know what to expect. I think it is a lot to do with mentality, in that I didn't over think it ...if that makes sense...I took the advice that we do this for fun...so enjoy it and don't be so hard on yourself. Have your days rest..today is done..I understand the horrible feeling but put a line under it..you will do it next time and you WILL enjoy it ...!🤣..Remember where we started this journey to how far we have come. ⭐🏃‍♀️⭐

Thankyou so much for your kind and supportive words.. I’ve decided I’m going to have weekend off (2 rest days) as very tired with work so hopefully I can start with a new mind and body on Monday xx Thankyou 🌟

Everyone has a bad run every so often, don't let it get you down you are doing very well.

Just keep going and keep us posted about it.

Stay safe 🌈

I had 2 bad wk7 runs so I decided to repeat wk7. I felt annoyed about that but I didn’t want to move on until I had properly completed that week. Have now moved on and done my first week 8 run and it was the most comfortable run yet. Just about to go on my 2nd run. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Go at a pace that is comfortable for you.

I know exactly what you mean, as I am going through this right now. Something seems to click mentally in my head after Laura tells me I am half way there. How do I re-program myself to keep running rather than walking in between. I have just finished week 8 and am wondering if I should repeat week 7 & 8 until I manage running nonstop or proceed with week 9?

Maybe running a 5k before you were ready for it has taken more out of you than you realised.

Why not have a few days break before your next run, rest, hydrate fully and eat well and you will come back refreshed and raring to go.

Stick to the plan.......it works.

You can repeat any runs or weeks if you wish to, you have already ran for 25 minutes in run 3 of week 6 and run 1 of week 7, so repeating run 2 of week 7 would actually be run 3 as there are 4/25 minute runs, have an extra day off running and try again, I am sure you will be successful
