I keep reading posts here of how folk are finding it easier as they progress through the programme so was hugely demoralised after my run this week. I felt great after Wk5Run3 so assumed that going back to interval running would be a doddle. WRONG. Run1Wk6 was the hardest one yet. Is this normal? Nothing obvious to make it bad. Fully fit, ready to do it, ok weather...and yet I never found a comfortable place and struggled all the way ๐ afterwards I was so close to not carrying on. But I WILL go out again at the weekend, if the weather allows.
Awful run Wk6Run1๐: I keep reading posts here... - Couch to 5K
Awful run Wk6Run1๐
Lots of people have issues with this run. Not sure why but maybe itโs going back to intervals again after the elation of running for 20 whole minutes. Ive just done wk6r2 this morning and that went ok. Good luck with yours. ๐ค
Keep it up!! I think with wk6 I felt like I could do anything because of completing the milestone run (Wk5r3) so mentally you feel ready for anything but itโs still bloody hard work! I had it again today with wk7r2... it was my 3rd 25 min run and the hardest yet. Keep it up, youโll have some runs that feel great and others that donโt but I think itโs all worth it!!
It seems like that run catches a lot of people out - probably going back to intervals after a solid run.
But you can do it - keep going ๐ ๐
Yep, this run is notorious for being a tough one. Well done for doing it, itโs out the way now ๐๐
Yes itโs normal Bozsky - week6 run1 catches loads of us out for the same reason as it did you - we thought weโd got it Sussed now we were doing longer runs! So donโt feel demoralised, just get out there again and give it some welly and youโll be fine! And yes itโs easy to feel the odd one out when it looks as though everyone else is finding it easier as they progress - but there are also loads from people who are struggling. You got this far, you can do the rest! Good luck!
Look at you. I admire your grit and determination. I remember not liking running much around week 6 but it gets easier. Frankly I found it easier not stopping once I realised ..hey , you don't really need it. It is a complete luxury to stop on this Couch to 5k but after 6 weeks we don't really need to. What I found was ...listen to the programme now and it pays off in the coming weeks as you start to believe the trainers more and more and see yourself improve. Stick with it.You're doing great!
Thanks everyone, you have given me hope! Glad to hear it's not just me who has found this particular week hard.
