Gentle run

Hi all. Hope everyone is well and enjoying their running.

I’ve just managed my first run since Tuesday, and a stressful first week back at work and a fibro flare to boot. Managed a very slow jog which really wasn’t much faster than my brisk walk to be fair, and only managed 7 of the 8 one minute runs, but I’m so glad I was able to get back out again and go for it.

Thank you Nilsam. It was hard going today

There is no particular reason for your running motion to be faster, or even as fast as your walking motion for C25K, so you can dump that worry right there.

Well done, work stress can melt into perspective as you run but with your health as well it must be frustrating, good that you got out there

Thank you WillowandSola. It is incredibly frustrating. I was one run from managing the 3 consecutive full programs for wk 1. Obviously I’m staying on week 1 now. But it’s ok, I can live with that for a while :)

Thank you for your supportive words

We stayed on week 1 for a while when we began then my foot psoriasis flared and couldn’t run for about 6or7 weeks then started again and even with the break we were stronger, good luck you sound determined and you will feel the benefits

Oh wow, I bet that was incredibly frustrating. It’s great you got back out, and found you were stronger.

Thank you it was awful because every stop was like walking on broken glass but it’s great to be able to run

That sounds horrendous and incredibly painful.

Hey..don't feel too bad! I struggled to get through this week one too and I didn't have your stresses!! Only way I did it was chanting "I can do this" every time one of my feet hit the ground on run three!!😅 Keep going! You got this!!

Glad you managed it. My fybro has been unusual bad since just before Christmas. Hoping it’s settling a. It now to let me get back out. Was on week 5 but think I’ll go back to week 3.

I’m sorry you’ve been suffering too. I don’t think it every really settles properly does it. It’s just what we’re able to manage and push through without giving ourselves too much more pain and exhaustion. I’ve come to the conclusion that what matters is we get out there and try. Something is better than nothing and has to be helping with the fibro in some way. Good luck when you go back out
