W9r2 - actually enjoyed it but ankle niggle

So I enjoyed this run so much in the cooler weather I continued for 33.5 minutes. I only stopped as I got some pain in my inner right ankle under the ankle bone. Just hurt in the last few minutes but I have felt a niggle there on my rest days since the start. I may walk slightly inward on that foot and so it’s under more stress.

Any tips, I am determined to graduate and am resting for two days in between each run.

Might be worth getting a gait analysis and see if you would benefit from some running shoes with support. I very slightly pronate but was advised I’d probably be ok with neutral shoes .... but 2 weeks ago I upgraded to some Brooks Adrenaline GTS20 which have cushioning and support ..... my knee and ankle niggles seem to be getting less. Well done on your run!

Thank you, I suppose that will have to wait till after lockdown. I wonder if strapping would help?

Couldn’t hurt. You can get various supports from actual tape, to compression sock type to those that Velcro around with actually supports. I’ve struggled most with my knee so the latter has been the best for me. If it goes from aching to sharp pain take extra rest days and use RICE to help it. Good luck
