Wk9r2 Actually enjoyed it

It was a beautiful morning, ground was frozen, I had a great night's sleep and was well hydrated. All these things contributed to my most enjoyable run since wk7r3. As the ground was frozen and not muddy I went cross country for the first time since I've started c25k and absolutely adored it - far nicer than pounding the same pavements every run.

I'm nowhere near running for 5k at my pace but totally pleased that I can enjoy a 30 minute run. Looking forwards to the next one and graduation 😊

Thank you to everyone who gave encouragement after I posted about hating wk8.

Same here, 26 down 1 to go!! I pushed myself this morning and got to 3.8 Km still a way off 5k but I couldn’t run for a bus a few weeks ago!! Good luck

Well done SherrieC @ 3.8k is an admirable distance. The key thing to celebrate is 'we can run for 30 minutes!!'. We have totally escaped that couch now. See you on the finish line :)

Aww that's great to hear that you've enjoyed such a good run today. Unfortunately, as we discussed last week, we should have been doing this run on the same day as each other but I've been notified to self isolate until Tuesday night, which I'm really frustrated about.

One more run to go then you've finished. Who cares how far it is?! Brilliant work. 30 mins non stop running is a proud achievement. Well done to you 🥳🥳🥳

Aww that's so frustrating, I would have liked to cross the finishing line with you. Fingers crossed you are clear of the virus.

Well done Zip54, sounds the ideal run that one, everything fell nicely into place, it’s great when that happens... graduation run next, which I’m sure will be just as good if not better👍

Amazing Zip54 , if there is anything have learnt after 5 consolidations runs is speed will come... endurance is the magic portion and treading less travelled roads. Enjoy your journey and new found passion. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Thank you, I did start c25k with the intention of achieving 5k but when I realised the way to enjoy running is to actually go slower I started really getting into it and realised I could actually get to the end and make running a part of my life. I wonder why they call it c25k at all.

I totally agree about slowing down. I started running a few years ago and thought I had to run at a really fast pace. I reached 50 & realised my body couldn’t take running at that pace, so I gave up. . I graduated yesterday running for 30 minutes after having been really ill with Covid in November. It really is better to go slower and build up to 5 K. I love running now and can’t wait for my next run. I also feel so much fitter. To all the new runners out there, slow down and stick with it, you do get fitter over the coming weeks. I could only run for 2 minutes 9 weeks ago, am running for 30 minutes without stopping!!
