Struggled more with last run of week 8 than with the first.
Had time to run before work (working from home today) so I thought that would be good and produce a good run.
Nope! My alarm woke me from a really deep sleep and so I felt a bit groggy for starters. My calves tightened up in the warm up - so that didn’t bode well - and it was already warm.
Think maybe I was a bit dehydrated - hot flushes aren’t helping there! 🥵 or with the sleep.
Never mind - the end is nigh!
Need a new consolidation plan - I previously did the audiofuel stamina and speed podcasts - but that music makes my ears bleed!
I’ve seen nike trainer mentioned- any other suggestions?
I’m going to finish on treadmill and then venture out again !!

It has been really hot today so no wonder your run was hard 🥵 Well done for getting it done though. I've used the Nike running app but I didn't like the Nike trainer side if it. I use the guided runs some of which are very inspiring. Took me a while after graduating to find something that worked for me. Good luck 👍nearly there! 🏃🏃🏃
Yes when you open the Nike run club app across the top of the screen you can choose from "quick run" "guided runs" or my coach. I found the coach really difficult as it's mainly intervals and not much coaching but the guided runs are a variety of times and distances with coaching and motivation. I find them better. Hope you find something that works . I struggled with consolidation after the first few weeks. I think I just needed structure 👍👍
So warm today – well done! Another recommendation for the Nike Run Club app, after hearing a preview of that awful music on the other one and thinking ‘NOPE!’ Lots of guided runs on Nike app for every scenario you can think of. Only tried one so far, a Headspace one, but have saved a load of others to try soon 🙂
Hi Crittermad, I sometimes use the Nike Run Club app. There’s all sorts of distances and timed runs to go for, and the coaching/ encouragement isn’t too intrusive. I can still listen to music or a podcast too. I hope that’s some help.
