Nervous about week 3!

Anyone at the end of week 2?

I completed 5 runs so far with no problems but by the end of the 90 second runs I'm really worn out. I'm worried that I won't manage the 3 minute runs next week and will then feel like I've failed and give up. Is it worth repeating week 2?

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

It sounds as if you are going too fast for your current fitness level.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.

Enjoy your journey.

Ok, thanks for the advice, I'm running along side my dogs and trying to keep up with them so yes you're probably right πŸ˜„ will slow down tomorrow for the end of w2. Hopefully will feel better about starting w3.

Thank you

Thank you for the encouragement. I've started this a couple of times but never completed it. Hoping this forum will help me get to w9! 🀞

I’d say push on with the programme and stay positive (I’m on W5). Take it as slow as you need to but just keep going. Warm up and stretch properly and stretch afterwards too. A lot of it is in your mind and the programme has worked for so many people so just believe in it and believe in yourself. You can do this! πŸ’ͺ🏼😊

Thanks for the tip, I haven't been doing any stretches, just the 5 minutes warm up and cool down walk but that will definitely help me out as the weeks go on πŸ‘
