Wk 9 run 2 done. First time I have measured the distance and I wish I hadn't! Should graduate Sunday at barely 3km. I’m 52 and have not run since school - I can keep going for 30 mins but get overtaken by dawdling snails! Please tell me I will be able to do 5k in 30 mins at some point 🥵
Wk 9 Run 2 - overtaken by a snail. : Wk 9 run... - Couch to 5K
Wk 9 Run 2 - overtaken by a snail.
Well done on sticking with it you're nearly there 👍
Don't worry about distance, running for 30 minutes is what's it really about, never mind the name of the program😊 I've just done my 6th consolidation run and in 30 minutes only got 4k!
I'm sure we'll both get they're eventually but I think it's getting out there and enjoying it that's important.
Have fun graduating.
Well done 👍 Can you run for 30 minutes nonstop. That’s the aim of the programme. Just one more run to graduation 🎓
You were overtaken by the quickest snail in the world, well done on completing run 2 of week 9, only one more run until you graduate, good luck for that, don't worry about running 5K in 30 minutes, the main thing is that you run for 30 minutes three times, the third of those runs is your graduation run.
Honestly it is really is NOT about the distance or speed... It is about getting out there approx 3x a week & running for half an hour... In time you might pick up speed or distance or duration... but even if you continue to run 3km regularly, you will be doing your health a great favour
Well done!! Honestly don’t worry about the speed, it’s not really relevant I don’t think. According to google, for my age (55) the average woman takes 40 to 50 mins to do 5k so if I am sub 40 mins I am happy!!!Running for 30 mins is brilliant in itself😀 See you on the finish line- I have wk 9 run 3 tomorrow.
Hi Flatfendweller.
I posted this morning about having done my Week 9 Run 3 final run today and I also posted a screenshot of my tracker app (first run I'd used it). I'm also nowhere near 5K but so many folks on here say that's not the point of the programme (despite it's catchy name!). Consolidation runs and *gradually* increasing speed/distance seem to be what's recommended for next. I think what the programme teaches is about stamina, and if we all keep running for 30 mins that will increase and we will be able to go that bit further (I hope). I am also 52 and not previously a runner at all. You're nearly there - keep going! 👟
