Well I never thought a) I’d be doing a running program b) setting my alarm for 5.30am when working from home ... but I’m doing both ... and feeling so good.
Run went well a little stiffer than when I did R1 but soon forgot that. Loving the peacefulness at that time in the morning, the blue of the sky and sound of the birds ... not just feeling good about the running but feeling happy at the sound of nature.
So next run, Sunday ... 5.30am on a Sunday... that will be a first !! 😮

It’s amazing what motivation can do! I’m the exact same, get up at 5:15 and out the door for 6:10am most of the time! I’ve found it’s made my journey a lot easier because I don’t have to worry about people and I can focus on what I need to improve on whilst not being in the boiling sun!! If it’s any help I found week 1 kind of the same because my body was getting used to using muscles that it doesn’t usually use and using stamina it didn’t have, but that will get easier once you start getting into the weeks. Try and do pre and post stretches on your next run, might help with the stiffness!
Thanks for the tips and the encouragement... I will definitely start stretches ... just saw your run post ... well done ... certainly inspiring for me as someone who hasn’t really run since school !
It really is a great time to get out, especially during this weather. A practical reason for my leaving at 6.30 is the lack of traffic on these narrow country lanes.
But I do need 45 minutes of “farting around” time after getting up. Moving the old bones and muscles around, enjoying a large mug of tea and catching up with emails and the news.
Love the early morning routine description !! Share the sentiment about the old bones and in my case muscles probably not used since school ... which was a very long time ago.
Thank you again for the encouragement ... enjoy the lanes in this gorgeous weather! 🌞
