Week 7 Run 3 in the bag- and as you all predicted, it was loads better! I missed a day (first one I've missed) yesterday as I accidentally did a 10k walk round Chester (more information on application) so didn't think it was a good idea to do last night. Tried to hydrate yesterday evening after aforesaid 10k (briefly ended up in Wales at one point... didn't get arrested fortunately) reasonable night's sleep- was worried about the heat still so took it very slowly and gave myself permission to stop if I felt horrible, and I did it! Not only did I do it, I actually ran about the same distance as last time, and had a little bit left in the tank to go very very very slightly faster for the last minute.
I'm so happy and relieved that it really was just a blip! Thank you all for your encouragement. Back on track- Week 8 next!! Oh my....

I’ve accidentally done many things... walking 10k isn’t one of them 🤣. I’m intrigued!
Sounds like a great run to me... getting a nice slow start in can soon have you up to regular pace with less effort and a smooth run results. It’s strange but when it seems slow it may not be so.
Enjoy that week 8... and any accidental marathon walks!
Ha ha! The car was in for a service so I walked in to Chester to meet my Mum by the river. On the way back I found the 'North Wales Coastal Path' and checked with a passing cyclist that I would be able to cut through to the garage when I got alongside it. "Oh yes," she said. "There's a track..." so off I went.
There *was* a track, but it was double the distance again, actually crossing the border into Wales, to then come back on yourself... needless to say I passed the receptionist from the garage on her way home.
Fortunately there was a sales rep still there to give me my key!!
I did a 13 mile walk in November, 2/3 days before my half marathon, while my car was in for service... fortunately in the morning, so was all done by 1. Legs hated me the next day, but were fine for the event itself.
