Anyone who has just started in the last week?

Hi I’m brand new, would be lovely to chat to folk who are at the same stage in the journey as me.

I did my first one yesterday. I was knackered. Struggled on the last couple of runs.

But have felt really energetic since! (Yes, even till 3am 😬)

Anyone else on here who starts things like this and quits after a few days or a week? That’s me.

I really hope this wee platform will be a great way to make sure I don’t give up this time.

Nice to meet you all xx

Happy to chat I just started yesterday needed to do something to get of my butt what with lockdown and working from and teaching the kids I just need something I can concentrate on. Never been able to run and find it difficult to motivate myself so happy to encourage others and help others 😊

Welcome and well done you..please do check out the FAQ post for new runners...the mantra is, slow and steady. Keep it gentle at this stage...there is a way to go:)

Keep posting too for terrific support and encouragement:)

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Welcome! I did my second run this morning! It was definitely easier than the first as I slowed it right down. It was 5 am and glorious out, (early because I didn’t want anyone to see me struggling!). I followed instructions to hydrate well and do some stretches afterwards. Can’t wait for the next one, now. Great support in this forum 😀

I started last week so in the early days. The week 1 runs weren't too bad but I've been struggling slightly with week 2 😕

Hi I just started yesterday. Felt like it went ok, muscles felt tender today but a good feeling...not sore. Looking forward to tomorrow’s run.

Hi, another newbie here !

First run of week 1 today .

Also found the last 2 runs tough 😐

But also felt great later in the day .

Last time I ran was on a treadmill 23 years ago when I stopped smoking !

I'm now 63 so this could be hard work ! 😁

So nice to meet you all, I couldn’t believe how sore my whole body was today after the first run. That shows how unused all my muscles are ha.

Will attempt my next run today!

Good luck everyone and thank you for saying hello xx
