Completed the first run of week 7 last night after taking an extra rest day because of some twinges in my hip and had no pain at all this time.
After running at the absolute slowest trot possible and still gasping for air with my lungs burning by the end on all the weeks up until last week, it still feels so weird to now be feeling in control of my breathing all the way through. I was speeding up steadily for the whole 25 minutes and in the last five minutes going fast enough that I never thought I’d have any juice left for the final 60 second burst, but did still manage to just let rip and go for it. I felt great! As a born and bred couch potato I can’t remember the last time I really ran.
My challenge at this stage I think is not getting overconfident and rushing ahead or giving myself an injury. But boy have I caught the running bug so far!
