Week 7 finally ✅

So after last Monday’s wobble, Wednesday I decided to walk a new route and ended up doing a 17 minute run which was a confidence booster after Monday.

Friday I hit 5k... I was in a zone, had a good pace going and had to run a hill 😣 but what a feeling that was!

Today I’ve finished week 7 and it felt so good again.

6 runs left 🏃🏻‍♀️😱😃

Thank you 😊 I’m over the moon. I nearly quit the whole process over last Monday’s effort but am so pleased I didn’t.

How are you getting on?

I'm doing run 3 of Wk 7 tomorrow. I think I'll manage it, but have decided to repeat Wk 7 to consolidate that time of running, before moving to wk8. You did 5k. How long did that take and how was it?

I thought about repeating week 7 but I looked at week 8 and it’s only a couple of extra minutes.

It took 32 minutes which I thought for a newbie wasn’t too shabby. It felt really good to do it. I can’t wait to do it again.

Blimey! 32 minutes is brilliant. No wonder you're pleased. I don't measure how far I run. Do you use that Strava app?

No I use my watch. I used to swim pre lockdown and know my watch swims with me 😊

Thanks for that.

Well - I took what you said on board and decided not to repeat wk7. Instead I completed wk8 run 1 this evening. You were right, it was only an extra 3 minutes and I completed it fine. That's not to say my legs didn't ache, but I do seem to have my breathing sorted. How are you doing?

Well done you!! It’s amazing how far we’ve come 👍🏼

I went out yesterday and for W8R2 and ended up having a little walk towards the end 😖 There’s always Monday to get back on it again 😉

I know so many other people have mentioned it, but I really made an effort to drink loads of water thr day before and yesterday. I also walked quite briskly on the warm-up.5 minutes which I may not normally do! I think that those two things really helped me go the distance. My next run is tomorrow - just wish this rotten wind would stop. You are quite right. We have come such a long way. Good luck with your next run. I shall wait to hear how it goes.

It’s hills that do me or having to cross a road, I sometimes feel like I’m playing human Frogger 🐸 There is a route I can do that doesn’t involve crossing but it means I do the route twice to get the distance and means running past my road twice and in my head I think I’ll want to home. Tomorrow is run day but I may just try that route.
